Size: 16 by 20 inches
Medium: Oil on canvas

At the Stream is a reflection on childhood, belonging, and the quiet joy found in simple moments shared with nature. The painting captures children immersed in the stream, surrounded by lush vegetation and softened light, creating an atmosphere that feels both intimate and nostalgic.

In this work, the stream becomes more than a physical place — it represents freedom, connection, and memory. Growing up, natural spaces like this often become gathering places where laughter, play, and community exist without interruption. I wanted to preserve that feeling of innocence and familiarity; a moment that may appear ordinary, yet carries deep emotional value.

The calm movement of the water contrasts gently with the energy of the figures, while the earthy greens and muted tones create harmony between the children and their environment. This relationship between humans and nature is central to my practice, as I explore how landscapes can hold stories, emotions, and identity.

Through At the Stream, I invite viewers to reflect on their own memories of home, childhood, and the spaces that shaped them. It is a quiet celebration of togetherness, simplicity, and the enduring comfort of places that feel like they belong to us.
